Sarah Barnett grew up in Northern California, where she was immersed in outdoor play, which led to a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. Sarah’s family later relocated to Southern California, and she participated in a high school Education Academy, which combined child development coursework with a preschool internship, and student teaching. At UC Santa Cruz Sarah completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and later went on to complete a multiple subject credential and a Master’s degree in Education at Antioch College in Los Angeles. After a few years in elementary education, she proceeded to get a single subject credential to teach science, from Cal State Northridge. Sarah has taught science for the past 5 years and is excited to continue to motivate students through inquiry and self discovery through science education.
