Interested in learning more about New LA? Do you want information about how to enroll a student in the fall of 2026? Come learn about our school and about how to enroll for the upcoming school year at an Open House. Everyone is welcome!

Open Houses will be offered either in person, on campus at 1919 S. Burnside Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90019 or virtually via Zoom.

All applications are submitted through SchoolMint online via https://newlosangelescharterschools.schoolmint.net.
Prospective families can apply at any time during open enrollment. Open houses will provide additional information and the opportunity to submit their child’s application for New LA Middle School.
Admission to New LA is open to any resident of the state of CA. New Los Angeles Charter School admits all pupils who wish to attend up to capacity. No test or assessment shall be administered to students prior to acceptance and enrollment into the school. There are no requirements for enrollment. New LA does not charge students tuition and does not discriminate against any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender or disability. New LA ensures that the unique needs of students with disabilities are met in order to give students with disabilities access to the same educational programs and/or activities that are available to their nondisabled peers. Applicants must be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in August 2026.
Enrollment Calendar
Monday, September 1, 2025
The enrollment window opens on SchoolMint. Applications can be submitted for the lottery at any time during this window, just follow these steps:
- Step 1: Go to SchoolMint and create an account.
- Step 2: Select New Los Angeles Charter School. You should receive confirmation from SchoolMint that your application was received.
- Step 3: Check back in at any time to monitor the status of your application, or withdraw an application, and accept offers.

device, you can also apply by phone by calling our school at 323-939-6400.
Friday, January 16, 2026: Lottery Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted via SchoolMint by 11:59pm on January 16, 2026 to be included in the 2026-27 lottery. Late applications are automatically added to the waitlist in the order they are submitted.
If you submit an application after January 16, 2026 and there are no spaces available, your child’s name will be added to a waitlist. We will admit students from the waitlist after the lottery, as spots become available and in the order in which we received applications
Friday, January 23, 2026: Admissions Notification
Families of all accepted students will receive an automatic notification. You must confirm within three days that you intend to enroll your child to secure their spot and begin the registration process.
If the number of students applying for admission exceeds openings available, enrollment is determined by a public random drawing. Students who applied by the deadline will be included in the lottery. Enrollment preference will be extended to siblings of enrolled New LA Middle School students, and currently enrolled 5th grade students attending New LA Elementary and City Language Immersion Charter (CLIC), siblings of New LA Middle School graduates within the last 4 years, children of board members, founders, teachers, and staff.
January–September 2026: Students Admitted from the Waitlist
Students on the waitlist are notified automatically via the SchoolMint system when a space becomes available.

Calendario De Matriculaciones
Lunes, 1 de Septiembre 2025
La ventana de inscripción se abre en SchoolMint. Las solicitudes se pueden enviar para la lotería en cualquier momento durante este período, solo siga estos pasos:
- Paso 1: Vaya a SchoolMint y cree una cuenta.
- Paso 2: Seleccione New Los Angeles Charter School. Debería recibir la confirmación de SchoolMint de que su solicitud fue recibida.
- Paso 3: Regrese en cualquier momento para monitorear el estado de su solicitud o retirar una solicitud y aceptar ofertas.
Nota: Si no puede acceder a la aplicación por computadora o dispositivo móvil, también puede hacerlo por teléfono llamando a nuestra escuela al 323-939-6400.
Viernes, 16 de enero de 2026: Fecha límite para la solicitud de admisión
Las solicitudes deben enviarse a través de SchoolMint antes de las 11:59pm del 16 de enero de 2026 para participar en el sorteo del año escolar 2026-27. Las solicitudes tardías se añadirán automáticamente a la lista de espera en el orden de envío.
Si envía su solicitud después del 16 de enero de 2026 y no hay plazas disponibles, el nombre de su hijo/a se añadirá a la lista de espera. Admitiremos a los estudiantes de la lista de espera después del sorteo, a medida que haya plazas disponibles y en el orden en que recibamos las solicitudes.
Viernes, 23 de enero de 2026: Notificación de Admisión
Las familias de todos los estudiantes aceptados recibirán una notificación automática. Debe confirmar y aceptar su oferta en un plazo de tres días si desea inscribir a su hijo/a para asegurar su espacio e iniciar el proceso de inscripción.
Si el número de estudiantes que solicitan admisión supera las plazas disponibles, la inscripción se determinará mediante un sorteo público. Los estudiantes que presentaron su solicitud antes de la fecha límite serán incluidos en el sorteo. Se dará preferencia de inscripción a los hermanos de estudiantes matriculados en New LA Middle School, a los estudiantes de 5.º grado que asisten a New LA Elementary y City Language Immersion Charter (CLIC), a los hermanos de graduados de New LA Middle School de los últimos 4 años, y a los hijos de miembros de la junta directiva, fundadores, maestros y personal.
Enero-septiembre de 2026: Estudiantes Admitidos de la Lista de Espera
Los estudiantes en lista de espera recibirán una notificación automática a través del sistema SchoolMint cuando haya una plaza/espacio disponible.
