Sexual Education Programming at New LA

PLANNED PARENTHOOD SEXUAL EDUCATION

On October 10-17, Seventh Grade students will participate in a sexual education program facilitated by Planned Parenthood LA.  The program will include six sessions and cover topics such as abstinence, communication and decision-making, puberty, healthy relationships, sexually transmitted infections, and the basics of contraception.  The presentations are tailored for middle school students and will be interactive and engaging.  One of the main goals of the program is to help students build self-esteem and gain assertive skills necessary to guide them though the pressures of being a teenager.  The program strives to provide medically accurate sexuality information that will aide teens in making healthy and responsible decisions.
