Bio

Gabrielle Brayton has always had a passion for learning. Growing up in a small town, her first loves were reading books, climbing trees and playing sports. Her love of reading carried her to college at San Francisco State where she earned her BA in Creative Writing. After teaching English and writing in Santiago, Chile, Gabrielle moved to Los Angeles where she earned two masters degrees in education at Alliant University and the Principal Leadership Institute at UCLA. She has been a part of the New LA community for 10 years; first as a Humanities teacher, instilling her love of reading and writing in her students, and now in her fourth year as Principal of New LA. Gabrielle loves middle schoolers and believes that young people truly can change the world.
